Gunners AGM
It was time for Gunners end of season awards which was hosted by Carl Littlechild.
The first award was for Gunners "Most Improved Player" and this went to Richard "Beppe" Alderton for a good season. If there had been a goal of the season award then he would also have won this with his spectacular 35 yard volley from the opposing keepers goal kick.
The next award was for Gunners top scorer and for the first time there had been some really close competition between Bill Maslin and newcomer Steve Tranter.
A hat-trick from Bill Maslin against West End made the scores 17 goals to 11 goals with 3 games to go. Steve made a good effort and scored 5 goals in the last 3 games to make it much closer at 17 goals to 16 but Bill eventually won out and picked up the award for the second time.
The "Player of the Year" Runner Up went to Carl Littlechild for a superbly consistent season at left back.
Finally, the "Player of the Year" award went to newcomer Carlton Dickson for a great season which was recognised by his colleagues. Unfortunately, Carlton would be saying goodbye to Gunners at the end of the year as his studies took him away from the area.
