Match Report
Gunners started the season with 3 points after an entertaining game against local rivals Chalfont Park.
Gunners started the game very well and dominated the opening 15 minutes creating numerous chances to score. Gunners took the lead through Bill Maslin but Chalfont soon struck back when a they equalised through a solo run and goal.
Chalfont then took the lead against the run of play with a shot from distance beofre Gunners levelled through Marcus Randles.
Chalfont took the lead again with another strike from distance before Gunners levelled again through Bill Maslin.
Gunners were also unlucky when they hit the cross bar twice from Bill and Dave and Gunners should have had a penalty when Bill was clearly pushed in the back.
The half time score was 3-3 despite Gunners dominance.
In the second half Gunners were caught out when Chalfont took the lead for the third time through an own goal from Paul Wallace who flicked the ball over the keeper but Gunners levelled again when Dave Owen converted a penalty for handball.
Gunners eventually took the lead when a long ball from defence was flicked on by Bill to Paul Stout who scored from close range.
Chalfont had couple of chances to equalise but Duncan made some good saves to prevent them from scoring. At the other end of the field Gunners also created some chances the closest of which was a lob over the keeper which appeared to be going in before Paul Stout cleared it off the line
Gunners eventually held out for a deserved win.
The final score was 5-4 and Bill Maslin was Gunners "Man of the Match" for a hard working display aswell as a couple goals.
