Gunners AGM

Once again it was time for the Gunners annual AGM and awards ceremony and here the team collected their League Runners-Up trophies.

After that, it was time for Gunners own club awards and first up was Most Improved Player which went to Phil Byrne for a solid season which saw a change in position to full back.

Next Up was the Top Goalscorer Award and there was little competition this year with Bill Maslin scoring 21 goals and the nearest rival only scoring 6. The fact the team had played a 4-5-1 formation with only Bill up front gave him a slight advantage!

Then it was onto the Player of the Year awards which were voted by the players themselves.

For the second year running Paul Ali was awarded 3rd place for a very consistent season in midfield and defence.

Second place was awarded to Paul Marten for being ever present in the heart of defence. Unfortunately Paul could not make the presentation evening and he was given his trophy later on.

Finally, Bill Maslin won the Player of the Year award for a great season up front where he scored 21 goals.

There was also a final surprise Club Award for Roger Bungay which recognised his 3 years service at the club as Chairman/Secretary and Referee
