Season Summary 2003/2004
Season Review
Gunners started the season well with a 3-1 win over AFC Twyford. Debutant Steve Tranter netted two goals whilst former Top Scorer Bill Maslin returned to the club and scored on his return debut. Gunners "Man of the Match" was Marcus Randles.
In the next game despite a debut goal from Jide Alaifayato, Gunners lost out 2-1 to RAS Rovers after a poor effort.
Next up was a league encounter against local rivals Chalfont Park. Paul Stout was Gunners "Man of the Match" and helped put the team into a winning position but Chalfont scored a late possibly underserved equaliser to level the scores at 2-2.
A brace and a "Man of the Match" display from Bill Maslin earned Gunners a 2-2 draw against West End.
Gunners then faced Woodley Saints away and took a commanding 3-0 lead before Woodley scored 2 to make it tighter at 3-2. Gunners held out with Paul Stout "Man of the Match" to give Gunners 3 points in the league.
Gunners then hammered Loxwood Res 5-0 thanks to a Bill Maslin hat-trick but lost the next game 3-2 to Chalfont despite a superb team effort.
Gunners inconsistent league form continued with an impressive 6-1 away win against RAS Rovers to avenge the early season defeat. Bill Maslin was the pick of the Gunners players with a hat-trick.
Paul Ali then led Gunners to a battling 1-1 draw with Woodley Hammers Res with a "Man of the Match" effort.
Gunners then faced Loxwood Reserves in the return fixture and again scored 5 goals to earn a 5-2 win with Carlton Dickson Gunners star performer on the day. The game was marred by the sending off of Dave Owen for allegedly swearing although it appears this was a case of mistaken identify as Dave had not said a word!
The next game saw Gunners compete in their first Cup game of the season against Woodley Hammers Reserves in the Berks & Bucks Cup. Despite Gunners scoring all three goals in the game, Gunners lost out 2-1. Neil Oldcorn managed to score an impressive two own goals in the same game!
A brace from Dave Owen and a "Man of the Match" performance from Paul Marten helped Gunners to a 2-2 draw against JMT Installations although Gunners had felt that key decisions in the game had not gone their way.
Gunners then earned another 1-1 draw with Woodley Hammers Res with Marcus Randles the pick of the Gunners players.
Gunners then faced ACF Twyford in the home fixture and won again by the same scoreline as before thanks to a goal and "Man of the Match" performance by Jide Alaifayato.
Gunners hammered lowly RBC Unison 6-0 with Richard Alderton Gunners star performer.
The return game against JMT Installations saw the points shared within another draw, this time 3-3 with Richard Alderton scoring a spectacular 35 yard volley from the opposing keepers goal kick!
Andy Birch was the hero for Gunners in a 1-1 draw against Shinfield RBL. Gunners played Shinfield in the next game but struggled to raise a side and were reduced to 10 men during the game through injury and were subsequently thrashed 8-1.
The next game saw Gunners unveil their new Navy Blue kit against RBC Unsion. Gunners earned a 1-0 win although it was a comfortable victory.
Gunners faced high flying West End in the league and hammered them 6-1 to dent their chances of the league title. Carl "The Jackal" Littlechild was Gunners star man with a goal and a "Man of the Match" award.
A good second half performance from Gunners saw them progress to the next round of the John Lusted Cup with Phil Norton "Man of the Match". Unfortunately, Gunners were knocked out in the next round 5-3 to The Bull after a poor performance.

The end of the season saw Gunners finish fifth in the league after a inconsistent season. Gunners only finished 6 points off top of the league and the fact that the team drew 7 games was largely their undoing.
The record for the season saw Gunners, Play 23, Win 11 Draw 7 and Lost 5, Scoring 63 and Conceding 41 goals.
However, Gunners did find themselves elevated to Division 2 East of the Reading Sunday League despite their 5th place finish to account for teams that had folded in higher leagues and to accomodate new teams that had entered the lower leagues.
